AC Ace – Bristol
We are delighted to offer for sale this rare curved Windscreen AC Ace – Bristol.
Finished in British Racing Green / black interior.
First registered July 1959.

Finished in British Racing Green with Black leather interior, 2.0 ltr Bristol 100D2 engine with triple Solex Carburettors, 4 speed manual gearbox with overdrive, matching chassis & engine number, 16″ wire wheels supplied new by MWS International with new 165/80 HR 16” Avon Turbosteel Tyres.
First registered on the 8th July 1959, supplied new in black with red leather interior to Captain. O H Butt of East Grinstead who later sold the car two years later to the 2nd owner Mr.A Bartlet of Cream, Surrey who only had the pleasure of being the custodian for 4 months before PPM2 acquired it’s 3rd owner, Mr G Howard of Cream, Surrey who again only kept the AC for a short number of months.
It’s 4th owner acquired the AC in October 1962 before selling the car in 1967 to A Mr.R Pickering, London who became the 6th owner March 1967, at the same time the body colour was changed.
Mr Pickering had the pleasure of enjoyment for 6 years before deciding the sell the Ace, the 7th owner was Mr.M.Deberry, Hanwell, London where it stayed in his ownership for 3 years.
In August 1979 Mr.M.Finlayson,Kingswinford became the 8th owner and staying in his ownership for 31 years, in July 2010 Mr.R.Maddocks became the 9th owner.
Two more owners, including the present owner make this an 11 ownership Ace-Bristol and still to this day remains on it’s original registration PPM2, A correct UK supplied RHD all matching number example with the original brown and green log books.
In 2017 the present owner entrusted the AC to Classic Car restoration specialist Mitchell Motors for a restoration, chassis, body, suspension all being overhauled, adding overdrive, fitting a modern clutch, rebuilding pedal box, overhauling front and rear suspension, rebuilding the brakes as well as new brake lines, rebuilding steering box, overhauling front and rear leaf springs, chassis and body work repairs, back to bare metal repaint finished in traditional British Racing Green, chrome work, rewired, trimming interior in black leather / black carpet, overhauling windscreen, assembling vehicle, tuning, all beautifully documented.
