This tremendous Heritage example arrived in UK 1st July 2015 (duties paid with HMRC certificates), to-date 2 UK owners have lovely enjoyed this GT presented in the Heritage Livery Package with the optional orange stripe and racing roundels, 5.4 ltr Supercharged Ford V8 engine with 6 speed manual gearbox, the interior finished in Black leather trim with the iconic carbon fibre adjustable bucket seats, adjustable steering column, AC, 8″ subwoofer with Sony head unit / USB – ipod docking.

There will always be something very special about the 1969 24 Hours of Le Mans, drivers traditionally sprinting across the start leaping into their cars to power slide away from the start, dashing under the Dunlop bridge, flat out along Mulsanne straight are all iconic with the greatest motor race in the world, finishing is achievement but claiming a win is what dreams are made of.

In 1969 the JW Automotive Engineering team entering 2 Ford GT40’s both in the blue and orange Gulf Oil colours, Jacky Ickx / Jackie Oliver piloting the number 6 GT40, Ickx took over the lead 3 hours from home, winning 120 metres from second place Hans Hermann in A Porsche 908.

In honour of the back to back wins in 1968 and 69 Ford produced a limited number of Heritage GT’s painted in iconic Gulf Oil livery colours of blue and orange, A total of 343 Heritage cars were built with this being the 100th Heritage Ford GT proudly wearing the famous number 6.
