Designed by Peter Brock, the 7½-inch-wide aluminium wheel was created to address a shortage of wheels for the 427 street cars after Halibrand struggled to fulfil Shelby American’s original order.
Named for their distinctive design, the ten spokes radiate from the centre like the rays of the sun, giving the wheel its unmistakable “Sunburst” appearance. Today, these original wheels remain one of the most sought-after period-correct upgrades for the legendary AC Cobra.
