The original Sunburst wheel made its debut on the AC Cobra in the 1960’s. Sunburst wheels were born when Peter Brock first designed the 7 1/2″ wide “Sunburst” aluminium wheel due to the shortage of wheels for the 427 street cars in the 1960’s. This problem incurred from the fact Halibrand experienced immense difficulties in fulfilling the original order from Shelby American. They are aptly named after the the ten spokes radiated out from the centre like the rays of the sun.
